Polizeiruf 110 - Jenseits

Tim is dead. Tauber (Edgar Selge) has to break the sad news to the student's mother (Ulrike Krumbiegel) and is overwhelmed by it, despite all his professional experience. Of course, the mother wants to see her dead child one last time. But pathological examinations and regulations stand in the way, which even Tauber and Obermaier (Michaela May) can't get around. Especially since the suspicion that the child was murdered becomes more and more solid. Desperation drives the mother into a tragedy that also becomes a test for Tauber and Obermaier. At the same time, one may suspect very early on that the perpetrator must come from the boy's immediate family circle: the father, the uncle, even the mother seem suspicious. And thus the thriller heads for its tragic core: that man, despite all his possibilities, is hardly able to protect, but to destroy what he loves most.
