That Trip We Took With Dad

A Romanian-German family suddenly finds itself in West Germany in the turmoil of the suppression of the Prague Spring in 1968.
THE TRIP WE TOOK WITH DAD is a moving story and it is set in an eventful year - 1968. Against the backdrop of the "Prague Spring" it tells the story of Romanian-Germans from Arad (Romania) - two dissimilar brothers and their father - who embark on a journey to the GDR. According to the wishes of the older brother, the family balance is to be restored there by an operation on the father, who is tired of life. But when the borders back to the ČSSR are closed by Soviet tanks and the family suddenly finds itself in the FRG, the new situation raises the universal question: is personal happiness, seemingly within reach, more important than family?
